The Runes of Thune

Runes Of Thune.

Thune exists as a haven for tormented souls cast out of other planes, or for those who have had significant injury to their souls and are often reincarnated within her shelter.

In the age of the moon maker there was no Thune, however there was a place of fantastic horror that almost wiped out all life and sentient minds on its surface and inside it. However an ancient being known as Miriada the Often Times Reasonable created the first runes to sap and negate and control the moon makers power.

The moon maker was broken up into three different moons one of the red iron, granite, and clay these were home to many forms of magical cactus and insects, as well as many grassy fields where the fastest equines lived along with equine beings of almost all varieties.

These beings held the lense of power an object that held all the rune powers made philosophies that discussed how things were achieved.

This moon was the second largest and second most dense. The name of this new moon was Bright Forge, the warriors torch, and the evening sentinel.

The second was the largest and the least dense the pale golden heaven an all gas moon that refracted light in the most beautiful of colors. Within its core was the lence of love all manner of aves (bird life) and all other like heroic beings built a castle in the center of of this guarded by giant eagles and the most heroic beings they could find to guard and develop the lence of love. It contained the rune made out of all the philosophies that discussed how to live in a more joyful peaceful world for as well as all ways to prevent and undo suffering. The name of this moon is the Kings Shield Mate, the Light of Hope, and The Queen’s Mercy.

The third is the smallest and most dence. A tiny midnight blue moon only consisting of water holds the lence of truth that contains all all the runes made of the philosophies that dealt with the nature of evidence, how information was is looked at, and what can and can’t observed or demonstrated. This moon is near boundless in its interior. The external volume of this moon is on one fourth that of the Bright Forge yet its interior is has a volume four times greater than that of the light of hope and contains every conceivable form of sea life both beautiful and horrific. There are of course especially many varieties of ravenous sea serpents. Each of these beings has there own life and stays there too develop knowledge of there own magic and learn all the secrets of shape changing from Mirida the Often Times Reasonable. and her family who guard the lence in the middle of the lunar ocean.

These lunar societies entered into conflict.

The moon of power wanted to establish its philosophy as most valuable but the moon of truth stretched out powers flaws turning it against itself. Power saw its internal flaws and weakness and sent its power against itself to correct itself.

Love sent Power’s into creative and defensive purposes and soon power could only serve the other two moons. Love and Truth spent a long time striving to define what the best philosophy was so each decided to let power simply cast a deciding vote.

Power agreed to cast its deciding vote but only in a contest capable of demonstrating that each moon could manifest the most power with its given philosophy.

Power created a small moon for Truth called Science for truth and another moon called Magic for the realm moon of Love. Each were expected to use these to establish the largest domain of power.

Love used magic to help to create an Ariel biosphere called the grand shield to develop and support life. Truth used science to develop a deep dense iron core within the sheild that governed how magic could be controlled and wielded safely. That allowed life to grow and evolve.

Power refused to cast a deciding vote seeing that both of these things were critical establishing power. So power demanded one more test. Power wanted to see truth and love develop there own secondary moon together and power would nominate the winner as being who brings most love or truth through a common source of power.

Love and Truth enveloped the solid core with something of without power but rather a boundless source of wonder, joy, and discovery. The two created there own hydro-logical moon called art uniting the powers of love and truth united.

That hydro-logical realm allowed evolved beings to develop intellect. The Undine born of water used science to develop technology, from magic they created the runic forms that could call on the runic powers. Those were used to build language and math. Those two things they used art to create song, poetry, paint and tapestry. Finaly they used there are to inspire and guide there technology.

In time the undine had an empire more advanced than the three dared conceive of. Yet Power could not see a clear winner a tie was offered along with a compromise. That was this.

The other two moons of magic and science would be absorbed into the core along with all three lenses and on each day a new lence would rise to power and new philosophy could own a day where it would have power for only eight hours at night.

The core had a special new rotary core for all three lenses. The moon of magic netted out a highly advanced kelp forest from her ever long vines. Science came down in a vast set of stone towers that bonded to the core, regulated the power of runes so that the moon maker’s power would never resurface except as an inert force to aid and protect the life of Thune and its shield. Finaly it allowed the existence of the many and vast board planes where thing could be built and sustained more easily.

Looking at all of this Power, Love, And Truth gave up their contest accepting that there could be no one best philosophy only a philosophy that existed as a personal favorite.

Thus each chose to bind a piece of themselves to Thune. Truth granted a vast network of sand stone earth silt and soil to line the seal away Thunes core forcing science into becoming something that always had to be dug up. Love existed gave some of the clouds and these granted life giving water to plants and also electricity that energized the earth and made the sky always so beautiful.

Power granted the final gift in the form of fire covering each of the boards with thick fertile ashen earth. Yet the best gift was that each of the stone towers of science contained a measure of new power that came from the center and radiated outward through the stone towers of science as liquid fire which when frozen created new land and a many many new elements. This allowed life to live and thrive on the surface as well. The second gift was wind that scattered seeds of life all over these new places to live and allowed every shred of Thune to have life. Finally the stone towers that did not act as heating vents for geothermal regulation had the power of dividing up and spreading out as mystic energy shook them apart spreading there presence all over Thune.

The three exhausted but stayed to watch over this process until a new presence of Thune awoke during there sleep. Thune would now now exist as the moon keeper and lunar guardian.

The three could only now grant tiny amounts of power to everyone but they had all eradicated the toxic force of the Moon Maker to forge the runes of Thune defender of moons. As Thune’s internal core matrix stretched out to bind and rebuild each of the moons that now woke up to be defended instead of defenders and for many years to come Thune was evolved into an advanced planet.

Soon every most every Dred realm became like Thune as each linked up with one another and each new cosmic event from that moment onward caused the first Thune (Thune Da) to blossom into another Thune-scape near identical to its first.

This happened until ribbons of tiny advanced planes were formed all of which were connected by rune powered energy.

And that was something nobody could have protected.
